Helping Out
We rely heavily on people
like you to make this festival happen! There are many ways for you to
help out both during and in preparation for the festival, whether it be
helping clean up after meals, taking out the garbage or helping pay for
a musician's ferry ticket. If you want to sign up to help in any of the
ways below (or you have your own idea) just let us know on your
registration form! We appreciate it! A little help goes a long way!

During the Festival
Setting Up:
We'll be setting up tents, tables, chairs, booths and sound
equipment for the festival on Wednesday July 24th and Thursday, July
25th. Come early and move
picnic tables, clean off chairs and raise tents with us!
Preparing for the Catered Dinners:
We haven't found anyone to replace our caterer so we
have decided to divide up the work with as many people as possible. We
plan to have a sandwich bar and a burrito bar like last year. We would
buy the ingredients and have you chop/slice/grate one of the ingredients
or make brownies or be in charge of a drink etc.
Hosting a Musician:
Have a spare bedroom? We are looking for people who
would be willing to let a musician crash at their home during the
festival!
Garbage Duty:
Garbage and recycling bins will need to be emptied periodically
during the festival. If you want to help out with garbage duty, you'll
just need to tie up the garbage bags, carry them to a dump truck on-site
where they'll be stored, and place an empty bag back in the bin. Just
sign up for one of the following times:
After Breakfast Saturday and
Sunday
After Lunch Friday and Saturday
After Dinner Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Dinner Set Up:
Help set out food, plates, silverware and drinks before the
catered dinners on either Friday or Saturday.
Dinner Clean Up:
After dinner on Friday and Saturday, you can help by packing up the
food, wiping down tables, and picking up any loose garbage.
Selling CDs:
Artists will be bringing their CDs to the festival to sell.
We'll need people to sell CDs in the CD booth both Friday and Saturday.
You can sign up for one of the following slots:
Friday from 12-2pm, from 2-4pm, from 4-6pm, from 6-8pm,
from 8-10pm, or from 10pm on
Saturday from 12-2pm, from 2-4pm, from 4-6pm, from 6-8pm,
from 8-10pm, or from 10pm
on
Pancake Breakfast:
You can help out with the potluck pancake breakfast on
Saturday morning by:
Making coffee, tea, cocoa and juice
General organization of toppings and cleaning up the area
Waffle Breakfast:
You can help out with the potluck waffle breakfast on Sunday
morning by:
Making coffee, tea, cocoa and juice
Mixing up waffle batter
Cooking waffles
General organization of toppings and cleaning up the area
Take-Down:
We'll be taking down the festival tents and packing up
the picnic tables on Monday, July 29th. Help us put away tents and
booths, organize the lost and found, pick up trash, stack picnic tables
and set aside chairs.

Ahead of Time
Donate Frequent Flyer
Miles
Have some spare frequent flyer miles? Let us know and you can
donate them in order to provide a musician with an airline ticket to the
festival.
Sponsor-A-Ticket
Even if you don't have frequent flyer miles, you can still
"Sponsor-a-ticket" for a musician. Donate a few bucks to get one lucky
musician to Shaw island . . . nearly there!. . . just a bit more cash
will get them all the way to Orcas!
If you're itching to do more, you might want to consider our second
ticket option - Sponsor-an-Airline-Ticket. Our current package deal
includes the opportunity to sponsor not only the airfare, but a
delicious and nutritious airline meal for the performer as well! Contact
us now for more details!
Donate Craft Supplies
A few wonderful "craft ladies" have graciously donated not only their time, but
a great deal of art supplies each year so that the Woodsong
Festival can offer a craft tent free for anyone to use. You can
participate in this by donating any spare craft supplies you
might have! Be aware that small children may be present, so avoid
dangerous supplies, and no paint please!
A few specific things they're looking for this year are:
Small items to decorate picture frames (eg. plastic gems,
feathers, sea-shells, old game board pieces etc)
Packages of low-temp-mini glue-sticks for the hot glue-guns
Sponsor-a-Port-a-Potty
The classiest way to get involved is undoubtedly by
Sponsoring-a-Port-a-Potty. For only $100, you can sponsor (and name!) a Port-a-Potty
for the festival weekend. (If you want, we can take a picture of it for
you to put on your refrigerator back home).
