Getting to Orcas: Orcas Island, located in the San Juans, is accessed by ferry or plane.

BY FERRY-
Orcas Island is serviced by the Washington State Ferry System. Ferries to Orcas depart several times a day from Anacortes, WA. In the summer months, ferries fill up quickly, and if you are driving a vehicle, it is advisable to arrive about 4 hours before the scheduled departure. Walk/bike-ons should try to arrive 30 minutes before departure.
Ferry Fees -
The Washington State Ferry System accepts Visa, MC, cash or In-State checks. For up-to-date ferry fee information, please visit:

Getting to the Ferry Terminal -
To get to the ferry terminal when traveling from the Seattle area, go North on I-5, then (after about 1.5 hours of driving) take exit 230 - Highway 20 West to Anacortes/Burlington. Turn left at the light onto Highway 20. Follow the highway to Anacortes, and then follow the signs to the ferry terminal. The drive from Seattle to the ferry terminal takes approximately 2 hours in total.

When traveling from Bellingham, or Canada, drive south on I-5, and take exit 230. You will come to an intersection (McDonalds can be seen straight across the street). Here, turn right onto Goldenrod Rd (aka Goldenrod Drive). At the first light, turn left onto Highway 20. Follow the highway to Anacortes, and from there follow the signs to the ferry terminal.

BY PLANE- There are two seaplane charters that make flights to Orcas Island from the Seattle area. You will need to arrange transportation from the plane's landing site to the festival (see taxi info below). For more information on flights, follow one of the links below or call:

On-island Travel:   Once on the island, you'll find that cars are the most frequently used method of transportation, but bicycling is definitely a possibility. The Crow's Nest (where the festival is held) is 3 1/2 miles from the ferry landing. From Crow's Nest it is another 4 miles to the town of Eastsound. Keep in mind that the area is hilly.

     Taxi Service on Orcas:
     Orcas Island Taxi- 1-800-942-1926
                     (For a local call: 376-8294)

          Directions for the taxi driver:
Go east on Swan Road (3 1/2 miles from the ferry landing) and turn right at the Crow's Nest sign.

Getting to the Festival:
Woodsong's Annual Arts & Music Festival is held at the Crow's Nest, a 20 acre piece of property in Orcas Island's Crow Valley. Once you get off the ferry, follow the cars as they exit to the left. You are now on Horseshoe Highway, the main road that traces Orcas' horseshoe-like shape. The Crow's Nest is about 3 1/2 miles away. The first section of road will contain a couple hills. As the road follows the last hill down, you will see a long, somewhat flat and straight stretch before you. When you have traveled about 3 1/2 miles from the ferry landing, you will notice the road curve sharply to the right. A bit after this the main road will curve sharply to the left. As it is curving left, you will see Swan Road on your right with a row of mailboxes to the left of it. Turn right (which is more like going straight) onto this gravel road (If you miss Swan Road, you will soon see McNallie Lane on your right, and will need to turn around). As soon as you are on Swan Road, turn right on
the second driveway (Emma's Lane).

Where to Stay

Camping at the Crow's Nest-
Most festival-goers opt to stay somewhere on the 20, wooded, park-like acres that make up the festival grounds. Come prepared for camping and pitch your tent wherever you like on this parklike 20-acre site.

Bathroom Facilities- There will be portable toilets at various locations in the festival area. If  you would like a shower, hot showers are available at Moran State Park (about 8 miles from the festival site). The rates usually run at 25 cents for 3 minutes of hot water (cold showers are free).
Campfires- No campfires will be allowed on the property during the festival due to the summer burn ban. You may bring your own hibachi, and we will have a couple gas barbecues set up for everyone's use.
Meals- There will be catered dinners available on Friday and Saturday nights at 5:30pm. These must be reserved in advanced (see the online registration form). There are also potluck breakfasts being held on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:30-10:30 am. If you wish to participate in a breakfast, please bring a topping, ingredient or drink to share. You should bring or expect to purchase (in the town of Eastsound) all other meals/food items.
Pets- As much as you may want to bring your "extremely well-behaved" Fido along, no pets are allowed on the property (The only exception would be a service dog). Eastsound Kennels, about 1/2 mile away, would be happy to board your pet. Call (360) 376-2410 for more information.
What to Bring- Camping equipment (tent, sleeping bags etc.) as well as meal supplies and food (potluck breakfast ingredients, lunches, paper plates and utensils, non-alcoholic drinks etc.)

Public Campground-
Moran State Park is about 8 miles away and is a nice place to camp along the shores of Cascade Lake. However, during the summer you must  reserve a space well in advance by contacting the Washington State Parks Department. you can do this via phone (1-888-CAMPOUT) or online at:
http://www.parks.wa.gov/reserve.asp

Hotels, Bed & Breakfasts, Inns and Resorts-
If you have babies or a strong distaste for camping, you can find your own accommodations around the island. These fill up fast during the summer, so we suggest you call them ASAP! For information on availability check the internet at  www.orcasisland.org or call . . .
